The Office of Regulatory Research Compliance (ORRC) ensures that research at the University is conducted in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines that protect human participants, animals, students, and staff involved with research.
Additional roles of the ORRC are:
* To support and promote ethical conduct of research at Howard University
* To serve the Howard University community by facilitating institution-wide research compliance policy
and procedures development;
* To educate students & faculty about regulations related to human subjects research, animal care &
use, bio-safety, data use and ownership
The ORRC currently provides compliance oversight to the following activities:
- Animal Facilities & Programs
- Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)/Activities
- Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC)/Activities
- Institutional Review Board (IRB) [Medical]
- Institutional Review Board (IRB) [Non-Medical]
- Financial Conflict of Interest in Research (FCOI)
- Material Transfer Agreements (MTA)
- Occupational Health & Safety
- Responsible Conduct of Research
ORRC is located directly across from the Howard University/Shaw Metro on 7th Seventh Street (Georgia Ave) on the third floor of the Howard University Research Building-1
