The Office of Regulatory Research Compliance is committed to helping ensure that Howard University's research activities are conducted with the highest legal and ethical standards. The Office operates as a facilitator, educator and as a resource center for the Howard research community.
The mission of ORRC is to support Howard University in promoting the ethical conduct of research and educating faculty, students, and the research community about human subjects protections, responsible conduct of research, animal care regulations and biosafety.
It is our aim to ensure regulatory compliance with federal, state, and local statutes and the protections of all human and animals participants involved in research affiliated with Howard University.
Our goals:
- To facilitate a partnership of shared responsibility with faculty, students, and staff to ensure that research at Howard University is conducted in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations
- To promote trust and respect among researchers, compliance committees, faculty, students, research staff, and the community
Compliance Consultations:
The ORRC provides compliance consultations to the Howard University research community on a wide range of issues related to research. These include but are not limited to:
- Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR)
